Smothered Potatoes with Smoked Turkey Sausage

Smothered Potatoes are a hearty, flavorful skillet dish made with crispy diced potatoes, smoked turkey sausage, and sautéed peppers and onions. Simple ingredients, bold seasoning, and cooked all in one pan — perfect for breakfast, brunch, or an easy dinner.

Ingredients

  • 3 russet potatoes, diced into ½-inch cubes

  • 2 smoked turkey sausage links, sliced into rounds or half-rounds

  • 1 green bell pepper, diced

  • 1 red bell pepper, diced

  • ½ yellow onion, diced

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Seasonings

  • 1 tablespoon seasoned salt

  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 teaspoon Weber Cajun seasoning

  • 1 tablespoon Badia Complete seasoning

Instructions

  1. Wash and dice the russet potatoes into ½-inch cubes.

  2. Dice the green bell pepper, red bell pepper, and yellow onion.

  3. Slice the smoked turkey sausage into rounds or half-rounds.

  4. Place the diced potatoes in a bowl and season with seasoned salt, Cajun seasoning, complete seasoning, and black pepper.

  5. Add the vegetable oil and mix until the potatoes are evenly coated.

  6. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat.

  7. Add the seasoned potatoes to the skillet, spread them evenly, and let cook for 7 minutes, flipping halfway through.

  8. After 7 minutes, add the smoked turkey sausage, green bell pepper, red bell pepper, and onion to the skillet. Toss to combine.

  9. Reduce heat to medium-low and cook for 10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until potatoes are fork-tender and everything is well smothered together.

  10. Remove from heat and enjoy hot.
